TORONTO -- The Bank of Canada's interest rate increase and the surging Canadian dollar will continue to hurt Ontario's beleaguered manufacturing sector unless the federal government provides more help, provincial Finance Minister Greg Sorbara said yesterday.
Mr. Sorbara told the media yesterday that he wants another meeting with federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty to discuss the problem - similar to one the two held three weeks ago.

A Quebec energy company that has built up a wind power business in France is bringing that expertise to Canada to take advantage of Ontario's interest in alternative sources of electricity.
*Boralex Inc.* has acquired rights to develop nine wind farms in Windsor and Essex County in southwestern Ontario. When the projects are complete by 2009, they will generate a total of 90 megawatts of power.

*Quebecor Media Inc.* sweetened its offer for *Osprey Media Income Fund* yesterday, in an effort to outbid *Black Press Ltd.* in a battle for some of Canada's oldest newspapers.
The company delivered a bid of $8.45 a unit or $414-million after the market close, surpassing the previous high bid of $8.25 a unit or $405-million made by Black Press. Earlier in the day, Quebecor lost its bid in an Ontario court to block Osprey from negotiating with Black Press.

Ad agency *Ogilvy & Mather Canada* has been awarded the industry's highest prize for a commercial that questions the perception of beauty and became an Internet sensation on YouTube.
The Toronto-based agency scored two Grand Prix awards, including the coveted Film honour, for its Dove Self Esteem Fund "Evolution" ad at the prestigious Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, which ended on the weekend.
